About the role
Provide ward clerk assistance, secretarial, and receptionist services within MHDAS Inpatient Units, to enable the team to provide efficient, courteous and clinically effective treatment and care for people experiencing the effects of major mental illness and/or drug and alcohol issues.
Entry of data, print and complete routine reports from relevant databases such as, but not limited to iPMS, The Care Manager (TCM), Bossnet and RAPID in accordance with Barwon Health requirements for use in patient care and health services analysis.
Entry of other data into administration spread sheets and data base systems and production or printing of routine reports.
Accurate labelling and scanning of client documentation into electronic systems.
Participate in the orientation and training of new staff, when required.

MHDAS provides integrated and recovery oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment,
treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families.
Our service is internationally recognised for its innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are client centred, accessible and family inclusive. We are fortunate to enjoy terrific internal relationships and have developed excellent partnerships with the local community that provide for seamless integrated care for our clients.
MHDAS is entering a new phase of co-design of our service system with people who access our services and our wider community. This will build on our nationally recognized unique cultural approach to the challenges of recovery-oriented service delivery to redesign our service system.
Key responsibilities
Provide accurate and timely data entry, reporting, database maintenance and general administrative support across health systems.
Prepare professional correspondence and documentation and provide effective administrative coordination to multidisciplinary teams.
Maintain accurate, secure patient information and support documentation audits, quality improvement and compliance requirements.
Follow Barwon Health policies, OHS requirements,
legislation and organisational values while providing flexible administrative support across the service.
What we're looking for
Demonstrated experience in a challenging consumer focused setting
Previous employment in an administrative/clerical role
Computer literacy and the ability to learn specialist programs used within Barwon Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service
Flexibility to work rostered shifts and additional hours to meet departmental needs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
