Job Description: Workplace Technology Services Officer (Techbar + Provisioning) Reports to the Onsite Support Lead Position Summary The Workplace Technology Services Officer provides frontline technology support and workplace technology provisioning services to employees across the organisation. Operating from the Technology Bar and supporting in office and remote users, the role delivers high-quality customer service while managing the end-to-end lifecycle of workplace technology devices and associated assets. The role combines walk-up technology support with provisioning and deployment responsibilities, including preparing and issuing new devices, supporting employee onboarding, refreshing and decommissioning equipment, deploying specialised workplace technology, and maintaining accurate asset records. Working closely with the Service Desk, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and business teams, the Workplace Technology Services Officer ensures employees have reliable, secure, and well-supported technology to perform their roles effectively. Key Responsibilities Workplace Technology Support Provide walk-up, face-to-face technical support through the Technology Bar for employees requiring IT assistance. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, peripheral, mobile device, printing, and connectivity issues. Support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, collaboration platforms, mobile devices, printers, and standard business applications. Deliver a professional, customer-focused support experience while resolving incidents and service requests. Escalate complex technical issues to specialist support teams where required. Maintain a welcoming, organised, and professional Technology Bar environment. Workplace Technology Provisioning and Lifecycle Management Build, configure, deploy, and test laptops, desktops, tablets, mobile devices, and other workplace technology. Prepare technology in accordance with organisational standards, security requirements, and deployment procedures. Provision new equipment to support employee onboarding, role changes, and technology refresh programs. Coordinate workplace technology setup for new employees, including devices, peripherals, and initial user assistance. Perform technology refresh activities, ensuring seamless replacement of workplace technology with minimal disruption. Securely decommission workplace technology in accordance with asset disposal and information security policies. Maintain accurate lifecycle records within the organisation's asset management system. Technology Deployment and Operational Support Deploy and support specialised workplace technology including handheld devices, Personal Digital Terminals (PDTs), barcode scanners, kiosks, shared devices, meeting room technology, and other operational endpoints. Configure and install monitors, docking stations, printers, scanners, and other workplace peripherals. Assist with office relocations, workplace technology installations, workstation setup, and organisational moves. Support organisation-wide technology rollout and deployment projects. Verify successful deployment and operational readiness of issued technology. Service Management Record, update, and resolve incidents and service requests using the organisation's IT Service Management (ITSM) platform. Ensure requests are completed within agreed service levels and operational standards. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, device configurations, and customer interactions. Contribute to knowledge articles, support documentation, and standard operating procedures. Asset and Inventory Management Maintain inventory of workplace technology devices, peripherals, and accessories. Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment of standard technology equipment.
