ABOUT THE ROLE
n
As Team Leader - Maternal and Child Health, you will provide accountable and values-led clinical leadership to the MCH team, enabling the safe, equitable and evidence-based delivery of Universal and Enhanced MCH services across Southern Grampians Shire. Reporting to the Community Wellbeing Coordinator, you will be responsible for day-to-day service coordination, clinical leadership, staff support and performance, workforce planning, quality improvement, immunisation service oversight and the implementation of agreed service changes.

This is a working clinical leadership position where you will maintain a regular MCH nursing caseload alongside leadership and operational responsibilities.

In this role, you will:
n

Provide clinical leadership, guidance, reflective practice and mentoring to the MCH team
n
Coordinate daily operations, appointment allocation, waitlists, rosters and service demand
n
Support clinical governance, quality improvement, child safety,
family violence protocols and immunisation delivery
n
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse and midwife with substantial recent MCH nursing experience and demonstrated leadership capability seeking to lead a specialist clinical team in a supportive community setting.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
n
n
Provide clinical leadership and guidance in accordance with MCH service guidelines, professional standards and evidence-based practice
n
Lead, mentor and develop MCH nurses and allocated team members, fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive team culture
n
Coordinate daily Universal and Enhanced MCH operations, rosters, leave and service backfill arrangements
n
Oversight safe and compliant immunisation service delivery in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines
n
Support child safety, family violence identification, risk management, CISS, and MARAM requirements
n
Lead continuous quality improvement, clinical audits, case reviews and service change implementation
n
Maintain a regular MCH nursing caseload alongside leadership responsibilities
n
Build effective working relationships with internal Council teams, the Department of Health,
health services and community organisations
n

ABOUT YOU:
n
n
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife
n
Accredited postgraduate qualification in maternal and child health nursing (or equivalent recognised qualification)
n
Substantial recent experience as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse, with demonstrated experience leading or supervising staff
n
Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary MCH practice, clinical governance, child safety, family violence, and the relevant legislative and policy environment
n
Strong skills in operational coordination, workforce planning, rostering and workload management
n
Highly developed written and verbal communication, relationship management, judgement and problem-solving skills under pressure
n
Current Victorian driver's licence, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and accredited immunisation qualification/authorisation (where required)
