The Opportunity:
Employed by Webuild , Parklife Metro is seeking a
Control Syste
ms Engineer
to join our team based at
Orchard Hills.
As Control Systems Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the testing & commissioning (T&C;) process of Control Systems, including Building Management Control System (BMCS), Electronic Security (EACS, IDS), Lighting Controls, Metering, Fire Detection, Tunnel Ventilation Control System (TVCS), other related control system installations and interface with other systems (e.g. electrical systems, mechanical systems, HV, PCS, Communications). This role involves ensuring that all Control systems are fully functional, meet design specifications, and operate efficiently in accordance with project requirements. The position requires technical expertise in electrical & control systems, as well as strong project management and communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Testing & Commissioning (T&C;) Planning & Preparation:
Review project drawings, specifications, and system designs to understand the scope and commissionability of Control systems.
Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for Control systems.
Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on T&C; activities and timelines.
Monitoring construction activities of controls systems, identification of punch items in preparation of T&C.;
Ensure necessary documentation is prepared, including manuals, testing protocols, and schedules.
System Testing & Commissioning (T&C;), Verification & Validation (V&V;):
Oversee the T&C; and V&V; of all Control systems and related equipment.
Conduct functional tests to ensure systems operate according to design intent,
performance criteria, and safety regulations.
Troubleshoot Control systems and resolve issues identified during T&C; or operation.
Coordinate, facilitate and document outcomes of witness testing for Electrical & Control systems.
Raise, track and manage the resolution of T&C; related punch list, non-conformance & defect items of Control systems.
Coordination & Communication:
Act as the main point of contact for all T&C; related matters for Electrical & Control systems.
Collaborate with design engineers, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure systems are tested and commissioned in accordance with the project timeline.
Provide regular updates on T&C; progress, challenges, and resolutions to the T&C; Team and project management teams.
Coordinate T&C; activities for Control systems with the greater T&C; team. Adjust T&C; activities in alignment with T&C; priorities as advised by T&C; Senior Commissioning Engineers, T&C; leads and management.
Support the T&C; of interfacing systems (e.g. electrical, mechanical, HV, communications etc) in conjunction with other T&C; engineers, contractors & vendors.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of T&C; activities, including test results, equipment settings, as-built conditions & witnessing activities.
Compile and submit final Test Reports detailing system performance, issues resolved, and compliance with project specifications.
Update and resolve review comments received on Test Reports.
Ensure that all T&C; documentation is complete and handed over to the client or facility management team.
Training & Handover:
Assist in arranging training to facility operators and maintenance staff on the proper operation and maintenance of Control systems.
Assist in the preparation and handover of Control systems to the client or operational teams upon successful T&C.;
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Ensure all Control systems comply with relevant codes, regulations, and standard (e.g. Australian Standards [AS], IEC, local building codes [NCC]).
