About Monash Health Pathology Service
Alfred Health and Monash Health haveestablisheda formal partnership to deliver a Shared Pathology Service as one of three new pathology networks for metropolitan Melbourne. All roles in the Pathology Programs are working to develop the Partnership and ensure we continue to providehigh qualitycare for the patients across the health services.
Monash Health Pathology is an integral part of Monash Health. It is the largest public provider of Pathology services in the state and currentlyoperates6 laboratories. The largest of theseislocatedat the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, withadditionallaboratorieslocatedat the Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey,



Victorian Heart Hospital andWonthaggiHospitals. There are currently 18 collection locations based within the hospital sites and community settings. Services are provided to the Public and Private sectors, and other laboratory services.
Now Recruiting - Victorian Cancer Biobank: Monash Heath Node Coordinator (1-Year Fixed-Term, 1.0 EFT)
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Tissue Bank, including the supervision of the collection, processing, storage, retrieval,preparationand distribution of human biological specimenssubmittedto the Tissue Bank. The role will involve managing employees and liaising with physicians, surgeons, pathologists, ward and theatre nursing staff, medical laboratory scientists, biobank staff across the consortium, and researchers. The successful applicant willbe requiredto travel to affiliated sites, including other institutions, as needed. The incumbent will alsobe responsible forobtaining andmaintainingethical approval for the establishment and ongoing operation of Tissue Bank procurement sites.
About You
Qualifications/ registrations/licences:
Tertiary qualification in health, medical science or a paramedical discipline
Recognised relevant experience in Biobanking processes
Technical skills/ knowledge/ experience:
Knowledge ofclinical histology processes, histological morphologies, and medical/oncology terminology, with relevant laboratory experience in a clinical or research setting.
Sound understanding ofTissue Bank operations, including laboratory practices, relational databases, and coding systems such asICD-10.




Demonstratedhigh-level organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines accurately and efficiently.
Knowledge ofapplicable federal, state, hospital and regulatory requirements, including privacy principles and regulations relating to tissue banks and databanks.
Highly computer literate, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
Excellentinterpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients/participants and multidisciplinary medical and scientific teams.
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and consistently maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
