Position Information
Oaklands Central School is in a rural community located in the Riverina, approximately 120km from Albury. It provides an educational setting for 38 students from K to 12, 17% Aboriginal background. Our students are from the immediate township, outlying farms, and other nearby towns. Luceat Lux Vestra (Let Your Light Shine) is the school motto and reflects the school's core beliefs, that every student has the strength to thrive and shine.
Oaklands Central School is part of the Riverina Access Partnership which includes 5 other schools across the Riverina and provides access to a broad curriculum for our Stage 6 students.
The Primary department has strong connections with our local primary schools. Staff work together providing a number of educational excursions, broadening the knowledge, and understanding of our students K to 6.
The school has excellent facilities which include well maintained grounds, a comprehensive library and access to high quality technology devices to support student learning. Every student from K to 12 has access to a school laptop to support their learning.
In addition to the academic opportunities, the school provides a broad range of activities including the performing arts, leadership and sporting experiences.
At Oaklands Central School, they pride themselves on the close relationships with the families who support the school. The school works in partnership with a variety of partners, including Student Representative Council,
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C;), Federation Council and local businesses.
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
Visible and strong educational leadership with the proven capacity to inspire a culture of continual school improvement in a K-12 rural school, utilising evidence-based practice, and demonstrating capacity in leading operational and curriculum provision.
Demonstrated ability to be an inspirational and collaborative educational leader who builds authentic staff capacity and executive leadership to positively impact student growth and attainment.
Understanding of the complexities of student wellbeing with a proven capacity to support staff and lead improvements for all students in partnership with parents and community.
General Selection Criteria
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis.The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P1 for **** and Teaching Principal Level TP2 for ****.
