We are excited to offer this opportunity for passionate, caring, and committed midwifery students to join our team at Maitland Maternity! Our successful candidates will be working with women, families and midwives in a supportive role as an Assistant in Midwifery. On any given day, you will be providing postnatal care in the form of breastfeeding support, observations, and attending to postnatal care plans. This role offers clinical support which is available from the education, management and midwifery team. You will be working collaboratively within the team to support women and newborns and promote safety and quality in the workplace.

The Maitland Hospital brings new and improved maternity services to the Maitland region and it's surrounds. You'll enjoy a brand new, state‐of‐the‐art facility that both our midwives and the women that birth with us love to utilize. The culture in Maitland Hospital's maternity services is renowned for it's positivity, and this has a flow on effect to the high level of care our women are provided with when they attend hospital. Their Midwifery Group Practice model is highly sought after by both our Midwives and our mothers in the region.

Requirements:
Enrolled in the Bachelor of Midwifery program at University of Newcastle in second year, first semester or third year.
Currently enrolled or successfully completed Midwifery Practice & Woman with Complex Care Needs A-MIDI ****.
