About Us
The Corporate Strategy and Delivery group delivers essential corporate and enabling services and specialist support, allowing the department to operate efficiently and effectively.
The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.
The Finance Branch leads the department's efforts to comply with government and legislative financial management responsibilities while driving a culture a strategic financial management across the department. It is responsible for the department's financial and budgetary policies and processes, including statutory reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation compliance, government reporting (including Standing Directions), and facilitation of the annual budget process.
What You Will Do
As Senior Advisor, you will provide trusted advice to the Chief Financial Officer. You will manage important papers, projects, reporting and requests for financial information.
You Will
Coordinate high-quality papers, briefs and submissions for senior review
Support key committees with clear briefings and presentations
Manage cross-function projects and turn complex issues into practical solutions
Identify strategic risks and opportunities across finance and the department
Provide accurate advice and support timely decisions on important matters
About You
A relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, supply chain, public policy or law is highly desirable.
You Should Also Have
Solid knowledge of financial, legislative, regulatory and policy settings, with public sector experience
Strong strategic skills to develop policy, frameworks and practical ways to deliver change
Sound judgement to solve complex problems, assess risks and make clear recommendations
Clear communication and resilience when working with senior leaders, sensitive issues and changing priorities
