About the role
An exciting chance exists for you as an Education Early Intervention Officer (EEIO) - Senior Community Services Advisor in providing education support for children aged ***** years who are coming into contact with police. The EEIO works in collaboration and coordination with key support services to re‐connect the child/young person with their school or education setting.
Location
There are two roles available, one is based in the Dandenong Area Office (South-Eastern Victoria Region) of the Department of Education and the other based in the Latrobe Vally (South-Eastern Victoria Region), some travel across the region may be required.

Have experience in supporting schools and/or young people 'at‐risk' or engaging with the criminal justice system (desirable)
Have proven ability to effectively build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels through effective communication and exceptional consulting abilities
Have effective problem‐solving capability to resolve or elevate operational service queries
Track record in identifying opportunities to work with other teams to deliver outcomes
Expertise in building and maintaining trust in partnerships, to achieve objectives through a timely delivery of high‐quality outcomes




Expertise to facilitate discussions and navigate difference of opinions to reach decisions
Provide a sense of purpose within the team by establishing links between work and impact to the community
About the Department

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross‐sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
