About the role
Join the Patient Support Services team at STARS and play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of one of Australia's first purpose-built digital public hospitals. As the Theatre Support Coordinator, you will lead and work alongside a dedicated team delivering essential services across Operating Theatres, Pre-operative areas, PACU 1 and 2, and the Endoscopy Suite. This hands-on leadership role combines workforce coordination, service improvement and operational oversight to ensure patients receive high-quality support throughout their procedural journey. From managing cleaning, porterage, patient handling and waste services through to staff development, rostering and quality assurance activities, you will help ensure safe, efficient and patient-focused care is delivered every day.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Lead and support Theatre Support Officers and Patient Support Officers to deliver high-quality cleaning, patient handling, porterage, waste and support services across the STARS Procedure Centre.
Coordinate workforce resources, rosters and leave management to ensure operational requirements, patient flow priorities and staff wellbeing needs are met.
Develop,
deliver and review training and development activities that build workforce capability and promote best-practice service delivery.
Monitor service quality through audits, reporting and operational reviews while maintaining compliance with infection prevention, environmental cleaning and workplace safety standards.
Build strong relationships with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, providing effective communication, leadership and problem-solving to support exceptional patient care.
