Decoding The Role:
The primary focus of this role is toleadmedical and scientific strategicplanningand operationalexecution ofcore medical affairs activitiesfromearly-clinicalphasethrough lifecycle management forour leadin vivodevelopment candidate, EDIT-401,a potential best-in-class, one-time therapy designed to significantly reduce LDL cholesterol levels.This rolewillbuild Medical Affairs capabilities whileprovidingscientific leadership and strategic direction across cross-functional teamsand strong engagement with external stakeholders.
As theSenior Director,Medical Affairsyou will:
Develop and lead Medical Affairs strategies including medical communications, engagement with opinion leaders, data dissemination, and external collaborations
Establish and execute a strategic publicationand congress plan; work with internal colleagues to develop key messages on unmet need, mechanism of action,
and target product profile
Build core scientific platforms, disease-state education materials, and standard medical response documents working closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Research, and Legal to develop a consistent, compliant scientific narrative
Serve as internal medical-scientific expert, providing scientific interpretation of data (clinical trials, real-world evidence, published literature) and translating insights into actionable medical strategy
Cultivate andmaintaintrusted relationships with the medical community by driving scientific exchange with thought leaders, investigators, steering committees, and medical societies.
Design and lead scientific advisory boards to gather insights on clinical trial designs, patient selection criteria, target productprofileand lifecycle planning
Partner with Clinical Operations and Clinical Development to provide input in design and execution of clinical trial programs andfacilitateenrollment of company sponsored clinical trials
Engage with patient advocacy organizations to build trust and awareness within the community
Direct external medical communication agencies, manage operational budgets, and mentor internal team members
The Ideal Transcript:
To thrive in this role,you'llneed:
Advanced health/life sciences degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD)
10+ years in biopharma Medical Affairs or Scientific Communications,
experience with one-time curative intent therapies and early clinical phase development preferred
Successful record of achieving andmaintainingcompliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules
Demonstratedexperiencebuildingproductive relationships with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders including KOLs and patient advocacy groups
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership, cross-functional partners, and external stakeholders.
Capacity to critically analyze and interpret complex scientific data and translate it into medical strategy
Track recordof planning, initiating, and completing high-impact projects within established timelines.
History of thriving in ambiguity, managing multiple priorities whilemaintainingfocus on achieving defined objectives

Salary Range:
$280,000 -$325,000
