Both globally and in Australia, Palfinger provides superior technical support, parts availability and after sales service.We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer/Technician to join our growing Rydalmere team.Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this hands-on technical role is responsible for the diagnosis, servicing, repair and commissioning of Palfinger Cranes, Hookloaders and Tail Lifts.
As the primary technical resource for service and repair activities, you will work closely with customers, technicians and the broader service team to ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose faults across hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systemsPerform servicing, repairs, breakdown response and preventative maintenance activitiesProvide technical support and guidance to workshop and field service techniciansConduct inspections and identify repair requirements on customer equipmentAssist with commissioning,



testing and handover of new and repaired equipmentSupport warranty investigations and technical reporting requirementsLiaise with customers to provide technical advice and job updatesEnsure all maintenance and repair work is completed to Palfinger and OEM standardsMaintain accurate service records, job documentation and inspection reportsAssist with continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop and service operationsPromote and maintain a strong safety culture across all service activitiesSupport field service activities and customer site work as requiredAbout YouYou will be a technically capable service skilled with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, ideally gained within the heavy vehicle, transport equipment, hydraulic, crane or mobile equipment industries.To be successful, you will have:Trade qualification in Mechanical, Diesel Fitting, Auto Electrical, Hydraulic Systems or a related disciplineExperience servicing and repairing heavy vehicle or mobile equipmentStrong hydraulic and electrical fault-finding capabilitiesAbility to interpret technical drawings, schematics and service manualsExcellent troubleshooting and analytical skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and manage competing prioritiesA commitment to workplace safety and quality outcomesCurrent driver's licenceWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary packageAccess to employee benefits including discounts on groceries, electronics, and moreAnnual health and wellbeing reimbursement programEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Monday to Friday rosterPlease note: The successful candidate must be able to pass a compulsory pre-employment medical, drugs and alcohol assessment.
