About the role
TheR&C; Cadetis responsible fora range of tasks whichassistthe credit union meeting its complianceand riskobligations. The purpose of this role is to providesupport viaspecialist skill and knowledge in relation toa range ofcomplianceareasfor the Credit Unionwhilstworkingidentifyingopportunities to implement systems and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
What you'll do
Completion of daily Risk and Compliance monitoring activities and exceptions reporting including supervisor override reports, system change reports, and exception queues as required.
Performing weekly hindsight reviews of loan files for compliance and quality and reporting on outcomes and trends.
Monthly reporting on R&C; metrics and performing a variance analysis including commentary
Preparing RMT papers and circulating to senior managers prior to the meeting
Secretary to the RMT – responsibilities include collating the agenda, minute taking, and coordinating out of cycle changes via circular resolution




Assist with financial analysis of credit union's capital position – participation in the annual ICAAP process.
Drafting of compliance returns including the annual COBA return and other returns as required to CUSCAL, ASIC, and APRA.
Assistance with completion of internal and external audits
Support the Risk and Compliance function with the completion of strategic initiatives
Partner with internal departments for testing and project work to improve organisational processes.
Policy and Procedure Maintenance - Review and produce procedures and flowcharts for critical processes across the business, work with other departments to keep procedures and policies up to date.
Draft training material including powerpoint presentations and quizzes as required for legislative changes or key risk areas.
Process Improvement – Maintain a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Project Work – Contribute to the delivery of projects across the business by reviewing suppliers, testing recent processes and programs, data analytics, leading small projects, writing project documentation, and other tasks as required.
Enquiries – Action enquiries from internal and external stakeholders including helpdesk, phone calls and email enquiries, as well as ad hoc tasks as required by Management.
Provide coaching and guidance to new starters and/or interns as required.
Maintain professional relationships with service providers and third parties as required to maximise value and ensure continued operation efficiency.
Maintain understanding of the COBCOP, E-Payments Code, Dealing with Deceased Accounts and Power of Attorneys, FSR, Privacy Policy.
Qualifications
Completed or working towards a Degree in Finance or related discipline
Knowledge and understanding of banking including basic deposit accounts and loans
Knowledge and understanding of compliance areas relating to financial institutions including ASIC and APRA frameworks
Demonstrated ability to implement technology and drive change
High level problem solving and analytical skills
Energised by building strong relationships in a collaborative and engaging style.
