Position : Fixed Ter, Full Time until 30/06/2028Location : Preston, VIC, Australia, ****Salary : $115,337 - $120,440 + SUPER + NFP Salary PackagingThe OrganisationThe Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia.
The VACCA team is committed to the organisation's visions and values, passionately providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the community.Our strength lies with our people.About The RoleThe Team Leader will manage a culturally safe justice support team who provide trauma-informed, holistic therapeutic case management for Aboriginal young people engaged with the justice system including access to culturally strengthening care and support to meet the person's immediate needs, including referrals to support social emotional wellbeing, health, education and employment pathways.
Specialised training will be provided.About YouDemonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA' vision and purposeAwareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people.Demonstrated knowledge of the justice system in Victoria.Understanding complex challenges contributing to young people's offending and ability to provide support which may mitigate these underlying factors.Experience in case management with young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people or vulnerable groups.Demonstrated positive experience working and engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities,
families and young people.DesirableRelevant degree or certifications in case management and/or therapeutic practices (i.e. Trauma-informed Care, Mental Health and AOD, Domestic Violence, Social Work, Community Development or other relevant areas).
RequirementsValid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
