About the role
n
The Senior (State) Manager - Programs is responsible for the strategic and operational management of a portfolio of state/territory-wide programs. Areas of support include the participation and inclusion of migrants in transition; individual and community emergency resilience, preparedness and recovery; and the delivery of strategically aligned community programs.
n
You will lead a geographically dispersed workforce of staff and volunteers and be responsible for brokering local, regional, and state/territory sector, community and government collaborations and partnerships.

Day to day, you will:

Ensure programs are designed and delivered to meet full compliance with contractual, legislative, and quality standards requirements.
n
Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities at the local, regional, and state/territory level aligned to our migration and emergency services sub-strategies.
n
Represent on relevant local, regional and state/territory committees, networks, meetings, and forums and promotion of Red Cross services
n
Develop program budgets and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the financial performance to ensure budget and revenue parameters are met

Substantial experience managing scalable community based programs and activities across geographic boundaries.
n
Well-developed cultural competence skills and the ability to work with and lead teams of people from diverse backgrounds
n
Demonstrated understanding of community resilience, preparedness, and recovery program models.
n
Considerable experience in managing change, identifying and adopting new ways of working, and securing the cooperation of key stakeholders
n
