About the opportunity

This position is located within Performance and Business Analytics, which is part of Funding and Performance at Townsville University Hospital. Performance and Business Analytics is the hub for the provision of information solutions relating to health service activity and costing.

It operates closely with the Funding and Costing Team to form a cohesive unit to assist executive and service groups within the hospital make informed decisions. The major outputs for the team include: The provision of monthly performance reports and presentation of information.

Business intelligence (BI) reporting of service agreement KPIs at executive and service group level.

Development, maintenance and support for a suite of databases, dashboards and reports accessible to the executive, service groups, clinical units and wards to assist in the day to day running of their service.

Provision of information to facilitate benchmarking and accreditation for the organisation.

Responding to ad-hoc requests from media, executive, research teams and managers.

Information consulting support for major transformation projects (patient flow, surgical waitlists, etc).

PLEASE NOTE - This is a permanent full-time position.

Role requirements

While not mandatory, relevant tertiary qualifications, skills or experience in advanced data interpretation, analysis and presentation would be well regarded.

Preferred experience with:





- Queensland Health Clinical and Administrative Information Systems, including the integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) and Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS).
- Microsoft tools: SQL Server, SSRS, SSMS, SSIS, Visual Studio, Excel Qlik Tech (Qlik Sense, Qlik View, nPrinting)
- Crystal Reports
- Programming language: SQL, Python

- Base salary range: $4791.30 - $5132.30 p.f. (AO6)
