Student Co-op Position (starting January 2027)

CLAC has a full-time, eight-month Co-op placement opportunity. This is available for a student who is enrolled in a Co-op Program at a post-secondary education institution, returning to full time studies, and is interested in the following areas: Labour Relations, Human Resources, Research, and Marketing/Communications. Although students will spend time with a variety of departments, this position focuses on Labour Relations. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate an interest in learning about and/or working in Labour Relations.

Duties

Job duties will focus on various functional areas outlined below.

Labour Relations

- Supporting representatives in negotiations, conflict resolution, labour-management meetings, organizing, and special projects

Human Resources

- Supporting HR and payroll projects and initiatives
- Assisting with recruitment processes, including creating job postings as necessary

Research

- Responding to research assignments and inputting data into research databases
- Research for projects with various departments

Marketing & Communications

- Designing, researching and printing materials as needed for CLAC publications
- Working on projects, marketing and social media communications

Qualifications/Skills

- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Demonstrable organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to prioritize and work independently
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and SharePoint




- Customer service experience would be an asset
- This position also involves travel primarily within Ontario

Term and Compensation

This is a contract position, beginning January 2027 until August 2027. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. The rate of pay is $24.92 per hour. The candidate must have access to a reliable automobile. Business mileage and expenses are reimbursed.

Location

The position will primarily be at our Cambridge Member Centre.
