Senior Payroll Officer | Northern Sydney | Hospital | $95K + Super (Salary Packaging = $110K+ Super Equivalent)

Our client, a well-regarded hospital based in Northern Suburbs Sydney, is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

The Role

n

You'll take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing for a complex award/EBA-driven employee population, working closely with HR, Finance, and People & Culture to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

n

n
- End-to-end payroll processing for a large employee population using Chris21/iChris
n
- Interpretation and application of relevant Awards, EBAs, and NES entitlements
n
- Managing salary packaging arrangements (novated leases, FBT items, etc.)
n
- Payroll tax, superannuation, and STP reporting/reconciliations
n
- Month-end and year-end payroll processes, including PAYG summaries
n
- Responding to escalated payroll queries from staff and managers
n
- Supporting system upgrades,



process improvements, and audits
n
- Mentoring/supporting junior payroll team members
n

About You

n

n
- Proven senior payroll experience, ideally within healthcare, hospital, or a large complex Award/EBA environment
n
- Chris21 or iChris experience is highly regarded
n
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, and salary packaging
n
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
n
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising across HR, Finance, and staff at all levels
n
