About the role
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Court Liaison Service), you will provide advanced clinical leadership and specialist mental health assessment within the justice system. Working across Magistrates Courts and police watch houses, you will play a critical role in the early identification of individuals experiencing mental health concerns and facilitate access to appropriate treatment, support and diversion pathways. This is a unique opportunity to apply your forensic mental health expertise in a dynamic environment where clinical decisions can significantly influence patient outcomes and interactions with the justice system.
About you
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience, and clinical skills in forensic mental health including conducting comprehensive mental health assessments for individuals with complex psychosocial needs in court settings, using independent judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Apply professional judgement to complex cases, utilising evidence based clinical practice.
- Liaise with various parties associated with persons in custody and appearing before the magistrate's court.
- Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team and other relevant services to facilitate continuity of care for clients.
