Redpath, a global underground mining contractor, is seeking experienced Charge Up Operators for the Dugald River Project near Cloncurry, Queensland. This role offers a long-term position with a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off FIFO roster to support work‐life balance.

About the Role

n

The Charge Up Operator assembles, positions, and detonates explosives within the underground mining environment. Working with a high-performing production team, the operator ensures safe and productive charging activities, maintaining Redpath's safety commitment.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Safely charge development headings, undertake stope preparation, charging and ring hook‐up activities in accordance with mine plans and blast designs.
n
- Interpret plans, record explosive usage and maintain accurate blasting documentation.
n
- Identify and remedy misfires, conduct thorough re‐entries and ensure all blasting activities are completed safely and effectively.
n
- Ensure the safe handling, transportation, storage and security of explosives in accordance with legislative and site requirements.
n
- Complete pre‐start inspections, workplace risk assessments, TTTCs and THAs, and report incidents, hazards, accidents and near misses.
n
- Attend and actively contribute to pre‐start meetings, toolbox talks, safety meetings and shift handovers.
n




- Maintain compliance with Redpath and client procedures while ensuring materials and waste are managed in an environmentally responsible manner.

About You

n

To be successful, you will possess:

n

n
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Queensland Blaster's Licence.
n
- A valid Manual Driver's Licence and current First Aid & CPR qualifications.
n
- Current Working at Heights, Dogging and High‐Risk Vehicle Loading Crane (Class CV) certifications.
n
- Experience operating underground mobile mining equipment, with the flexibility to operate additional plant as required.
n
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions, complete documentation and work effectively within a team environment.
n
