Where you'll be working
n
Based atBlacktown Hospital, you'll join the Blacktown Clinical School and Research Centre and Department of Gastroenterology, working alongside experienced clinicians, researchers and multidisciplinary teams. - Work across clinical research, hepatology and related specialist services
n
- Collaborate with medical, nursing and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
n
- Build effective partnerships across inpatient and outpatient services
n
- Engage with patients through clinical assessment, follow-up and outreach programs
n
- Work across alternate hospital sites and community public healthcare facilities as required
n
n
What you'll be doing
n
As a Clinical Research Nurse, you'll take a leading role in the delivery of one or more clinical trials or research studies, combining clinical expertise with research coordination and participant care.
n
n
- Lead the day-to-day clinical conduct of allocated clinical trials and research studies, including participant recruitment, screening, eligibility and follow-up
n
- Provide specialised nursing care and clinical assessment for patients with advanced liver disease, including investigative procedures and treatment support
n
- Coordinate research activities, maintain accurate clinical and source documentation,
and ensure study records and case report forms are completed to required standards
n
- Work closely with investigators, medical teams, GPs and multidisciplinary services to support safe, effective patient care and high-quality research outcomes
n
- Contribute to research governance, ethics submissions, protocol amendments, adverse event reporting and the ongoing development of clinical practice
n

Registration: Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
n
Selection Criteria
n
n
- Registered nurse with extensive post registration experience, especially in Hepatology or other relevant qualifications.
n
- Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence based practice.
n
- Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills incorporating NSW Health CORE values (Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment).
n
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload, working independently and collaboratively with members of a multidisciplinary stakeholders.
n
- Experience with clinical research projects.
n
- Certified Venepuncture skills or willingness to attain
n
n
