Job Description:

Shoreline Freighters is a family-owned freight and logistics business that has operated on the north coast of NSW for over 30 years. We run a fleet of more than 100 vehicles across four depots, with our head office in Coffs Harbour and depots at Wauchope, Taree and South Murwillumbah. Our services include linehaul, freight forwarding, 3PL warehousing and in-house diesel mechanical services. We are a trusted freight partner to Tier 1 providers and we take pride in reliable, personal service.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Transport Company Manager to organise and control our transport operations across the network. Based at our Coffs Harbour head office, you will hold end-to-end responsibility for our vehicle fleet, transport scheduling and subcontractor network. This is a hands-on management role in a growing regional business.

Key responsibilities
• Organise the procurement of fuel and consumables for transport operations, and arrange for vehicles to be made available for scheduled maintenance
• Liaise with clients to determine freight requirements, advise on vehicle type, hire rates and obligations, and resolve escalated complaints
• Receive orders and bookings, and plan and implement transportation schedules across the depot network
• Arrange the collection and delivery of vehicles and goods, and ensure goods are stored and transported in conditions that maintain their quality
• Manage and develop the transport workforce,



including allocation of drivers and transport staff across the network
• Engage, brief and monitor subcontractors, and manage subcontractor performance and compliance
• Maintain transport business records and prepare operational statements and reports for management
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, Chain of Responsibility obligations and heavy vehicle regulations

What we are looking for
• An AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in a relevant discipline. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification
• A minimum of three years of relevant experience in transport or freight operations management
• Demonstrated experience managing a commercial vehicle fleet and a team of transport staff
• Working knowledge of Australian heavy vehicle regulation, Chain of Responsibility and workplace health and safety obligations
• Experience with transport management systems and electronic proof of delivery
• Robust communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and subcontractors
• A current Australian driver's licence
• Full working rights in Australia
