Randstad is pleased to be partnering with our client who are a large employer in the mining industry based in the Brisbane Inner suburbs. They are seeking a Payroll Officer to join their payroll team on a permanent basis.

About the role

Reporting into the Payroll Lead and working in a team environment, your duties will include:

- Importing and analysing time and attendance data received from sites
- Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of fortnightly payroll, including any off-cycle pays
- Maintaining employee records in line with instructions




- Reviewing pay journals and reports to confirm accurate payments to employees
- Understanding and interpreting Enterprise Agreements (EA) and Award provisions to ensure compliance
- Resolving payroll-related queries from HR, line managers and employees in a timely manner
- Following established payroll processes and identifying improvement opportunities

About you

- 12+ months experience in a payroll position - ideally in a medium to high volume environment
- Experience using a payroll system
- Positive written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy
- Full and unlimited Australian working rights

Qualification

- Previous experience in a similar role
