Drug Awareness Rehabilitation and Management (Drug ARM) is a not for profit organisation committed to reducing harms associated with alcohol and other drug use. Drug ARM has been a specialist provider of alcohol and other drug services since 1980 and currently operates throughout Queensland and parts of New South Wales.

Role Details

- This is a full-time role based in Annerley, working 76 hours per fortnight.
- Funding for the Community and Family Support Service is secured until 30 June 2027.
- This role requires the successful applicant to obtain and maintain a current Blue Card.

Program Overview

The Community and Family Support Service (CAFSS) provides a structured brief intervention program for individuals and their significant others in addressing alcohol and/or other drug use and associated issues. The Program Coordinator supports volunteers and students to deliver the CAFSS program.

The service is highly accessible as a result of multi-modal service delivery (face to face, online or telephone), and multi-location service provision (office, home or community-based appointments).

The CAFSS program provides assessment, case management, case formulation, counselling, psychoeducation, social skills training, relapse prevention and referral strategies to presenting clients with low to medium complex needs. These are delivered in accordance with Harm Minimisation principles using a bio-psychosocial approach and recovery orientation.

Position Overview

The CAFSS Program Coordinator role would suit a candidate who is an experienced alcohol and other drug clinician, is passionate about the AOD sector,



and is ready to help support the emerging workforce. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the daily running of the program including managing students and volunteers.

The Program Coordinator will:

- Supervise students and volunteers and support their learning and development in delivering AOD assessments, treatment planning and brief interventions.
- Maintain a schedule of appointments for people to access the service.
- Work within a harm minimisation framework and be informed by contemporary evidence-based treatment for people accessing AOD services.
- Ensure all people accessing the program receive the appropriate level of intervention based on risk and identified need.
- Develop and implement effective group intervention options, as identified as necessary.
- Build and maintain relationships with universities and private colleges.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with relevant service providers and agencies for referral pathways and service connection.
- Provide clinical, supervisory and administrative support to volunteers and/or students.
- Contribute to the design and development of procedures and associated work functions.
- Apply skilled, ethical and legal requirements in service provision.
- Demonstrate ongoing contribution to the quality improvement initiatives of the organisation.
- Apply contemporary HR practice and at all times contribute to Workplace Health and Safety and Risk Management processes.
- Prepare supporting documentation and progress reports as required.
- Be willing to perform other duties as reasonably required.

Qualification and Experience:

- Experience in delivering AOD services; AND
- Degree; OR
- Post-graduate qualification.
