Moreton Bay College is seeking an accomplished and passionate Mathematics teacher with demonstrated experience teaching both QCAA Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods.

This is a key specialist appointment within our Secondary Mathematics Faculty. The successful candidate will help strengthen the depth of senior Mathematics expertise available to students pursuing ambitious academic and tertiary pathways.

MBC is offering a permanent appointment, with the flexibility to consider either full-time or part-time employment, depending on the successful candidate’s preferences.

About the role

The central focus of this position is the delivery of Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics in Years 11 and 12. Depending on the successful candidate’s employment fraction and the College timetable, the broader teaching load may include Mathematics classes across Years 7–10.

The successful candidate will:

- Design and deliver academically rigorous, engaging and inclusive Mathematics programmes
- Prepare students confidently for QCAA internal and external assessment
- Use assessment evidence and student achievement data to inform teaching,



feedback and intervention
- Contribute expertise to assessment development, moderation and senior curriculum planning
- Support QCAA processes including Endorsement and Confirmation
- Collaborate with Mathematics colleagues to strengthen consistency, extension and student achievement
- Differentiate learning for students across a range of abilities, including highly capable students
- Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and families through MBC's Academic Care approach
- Contribute positively to the broader life and values of the College

About you

You will be an experienced senior Mathematics educator who combines deep subject knowledge with the ability to make complex concepts accessible, engaging and intellectually rewarding.

You will demonstrate:

- Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications and current Queensland College of Teachers registration
- A minimum of five years’ experience teaching senior Mathematics
- Significant and recent experience teaching both Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics
- Strong knowledge of current QCAA senior syllabuses, assessment requirements and external examinations
- A record of supporting students to achieve strong academic growth and outcomes
- Evidence-informed, contemporary and inclusive teaching practice
- The ability to challenge highly capable students while supporting diverse learning needs
- Strong communication,



collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to reflective practice and continued professional learning
- Enthusiasm for girls’ education and for helping young women pursue Mathematics, science, engineering and other highly competitive pathways
- A willingness to support the Christian ethos and values of Moreton Bay College

Experience as a QCAA endorser, confirmer or external marker would be highly regarded.
