DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Supervisor for a temporary opportunity with with our Queensland Government client based in Cairns. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Supervisor to lead the delivery of building and construction projects across Far North Queensland.
About the role
- Monitor project standards, service quality, expenditure and delivery timeframes to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved
- Coordinate regional resources to support the effective delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade projects
- Supervise contractors, field staff and office-based teams involved in planned and responsive works
- Support the planning, delivery and monitoring of service maintenance, facilities and traditional works programs
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Promote a safe, respectful and compliant workplace in line with workplace health and safety and human resource practices
- Manage staff performance, conduct and development while supporting a positive team culture
About you
- Demonstrated experience supervising construction, maintenance, facilities or asset-related works
- Solid understanding of building construction, maintenance practices, contract procedures and relevant regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, resources, contractors and project deadlines
- Confident communication skills with the ability to build productive relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Sound computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- A construction industry-related trade qualification will be highly regarded but is not mandatory
