We are flexible and will consider part-time employment for the right candidate. Are you passionate about supporting children and families to thrive? Do you have experience working alongside families experiencing trauma, addiction, abuse, family violence, or other significant life challenges?

We are seeking compassionate, motivated and culturally aware Family Partner & Advocates to join our Early Years Children & Families Unit. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

About the Role

As a Family Partner & Advocate, you will work closely with children, young people and their families to build capacity, strengthen family relationships and support positive change. Your focus will be on helping families navigate challenges and access the services and supports they need so children can remain safely at home and within their family and community networks.

Key responsibilities include:

- Building strong and trusting relationships with children and families.
- Providing case management and family support services.
- Advocating for families and connecting them with relevant services.
- Maintaining regular, meaningful contact with families.
- Supporting families experiencing trauma, addiction, abuse, and other complex challenges.
- Developing and maintaining effective partnerships with community organisations and stakeholders.
- Completing accurate case notes, reports and documentation.
- Participating in case planning, review processes and service reporting requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Certificate IV in Community Services, Social Work, Welfare or a related field, and/or a minimum of two years' relevant experience.




- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal children, families and communities.
- Experience in case management and family-centred practice.
- Strong communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage complex situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Effective conflict resolution, negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Strong record keeping and report writing abilities.
- A commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.

Requirements

The successful applicant will be required to:

- Undertake and pass a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
- Complete a pre-employment wellness check (including drug and alcohol screening)
- Hold or obtain a NSW Working with Children Check

Remuneration

SCHADS Award Level 3 - 4 (dependent on qualifications and experience) + superannuation
