What you will do:

- Assess the suitability of relatives or close family friends as carers through viability, connected persons, and Special Guardianship Order assessments
- Provide high-level risk analysis, completing detailed analytical kinship assessments
- Conduct regular statutory visits to carers and undertake high-quality sessions ensuring optimum safeguarding
- Make informed child-centred decisions, applying critical reflection and analysis in complex cases
- Meet service demands by producing consistently high-quality work to standard within set timescales and managing court deadlines

To excel in this role, candidates must be experienced Children’s Social Workers in Fostering, with particular expertise in Kinship Assessment, and have completed SGO assessments previously. A strong grasp of children’s legislation, processes, and frameworks, especially concerning Looked After Children and kinship, is essential.
