Regular fortnightly roster | Complex care | Join an established support team
Nextt is seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Disability Support Workers to join a dedicated and well-established team supporting a gentleman living in Elemore Vale.
The client has a spinal cord injury resulting in quadriplegia and requires support with all aspects of daily living. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide meaningful, person-centred support that promotes comfort, independence and quality of life.
The client enjoys spending time with family, keeping up with current affairs and staying informed about world events.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will work as part of a dedicated team and assist with a range of daily living and complex care supports, including:
- Personal care and hygiene
- Medication assistance
- Domestic assistance and general cleaning throughout the home
- PEG feeding support
- Community access and transport using the client's wheelchair-accessible van
- All transfers using a sling hoist, completed with two support workers
- Supporting the client's routines and preferences
- Maintaining a protected, respectful and person-centred environment
- Accurate documentation and following individual support plans
Available Fortnightly Roster
This role offers a regular fortnightly roster with a variety of morning, afternoon and overnight shifts:
Week 1: Monday,
Wednesday and Saturday 6:00am–8:00am; Tuesday and Friday 6:00pm–10:00pm and 10:00pm–6:00am.
Week 2: Monday and Saturday 6:00am–2:00pm; Wednesday 6:00am–8:00am; Tuesday and Sunday 6:00pm–10:00pm and 10:00pm–6:00am.
What You'll Earn
E3.1 Casual – In-Home and SIL SCHADS Award rates (before tax, including casual loading):
- Previous experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries
- Experience supporting people with complex physical disabilities
- Experience using a sling hoist and completing safe two-person transfers
- PEG feeding experience, or a willingness to undertake training
- The ability to work effectively as part of an established team
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- A current driver's licence is preferred
- The ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow individual support plans
