THE POSITION

n

This position will implement individual and group activities for children aged 5-12 years in OOSH programs and provide care and supervision conducive to their needs and development.

n

Reporting to the Educator Supervisor you will:

n

n
- Assist the Educator Supervisor to implement and evaluate activity programs in line with the National Quality Standards (NQS) and prioritise the rights, health and safety of all children.
n
- Support the delivery of curriculum‐based programs using the My Time Our Place Framework, including documenting children's learning and contributing to engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences.
n
- Engage in career development and training in child protection continuously.
n
- Be committed to child safety, respect and value all children, have an understanding of children's different developmental needs and use culturally safe practices.
n
- Promote positive relationships with children and families, contributing to an inclusive, welcoming environment that respects diversity and community aspirations.
n




- Understand and follow reporting requirements and processes as part of child safe practices
n
- Maintain an understanding of obligations of mandatory reporting obligations, follow the Mandatory Reporter Guide (MRG), and lodge reports through the Child Protection Helpline and ChildStory eReport system when required.
n
- Assist with activities across the Children and Family Services Section, including supporting Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) funded Playgroups when required.
n
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure safe, high‐quality service delivery consistent with Council policies, procedures and the NSW Child Safe Standards.
n
- Promote and foster positive partnerships with families which contribute to a strong, inclusive community within the service, presenting a welcoming environment where the diversity of families and communities, and the aspirations they hold for their children, are respected and promoted as the foundation of the service.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

n

Specifically, you will have:

n

n
- Minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121)
n
- Age of 18 years or older (state licensing requirement)
n
- Ability to meet the requirements for a Criminal Record and Police Check and NSW Working with Children Check
n
- Current Class C driver's licence (Car Licence)
n
