Company Description International House (IH) is a residential college at The University of Queensland, with a vibrant community that has welcomed over 7,000 residents from more than 50 countries since 1965. Its global alumni network connects former residents, staff, and friends with each other and with ongoing developments at IH. A
Role Description The Alumni and Stakeholder Engagement Officer is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to proactively engage with stakeholders: alumni, donors, Rotary, current residents and the UQ community, fostering a sense of community and garnering support for, and engagement with, IH.
This inlcudes
- Develop and execute a comprehensive stakeholder relations programme which effectively engages and cultivates relationships with alumni, donors, Rotary, residents and the UQ community.
- To design and implement an annual programme of events and activities to foster connection among alumni and between alumni and International House including:
o Brotherhood Brunch and IH Awards Programme Ceremony o Peace and Understanding lectures o IH Skilled Series o Alumni reunions o Facilitate guest speakers for events as required.
- Maintain an accurate alumni database, ensuring that contact information,
employment details and other relevant data are properly recorded.
- Manage IH Scholarship programmes, both internal and those offered through the University of Queensland.
- Create and distribute regular communications, such as the annual alumni magazine (Lightweaver), newsletters and email updates, and social media posts, to keep alumni informed about news, events and opportunities related to IH and UQ.
- Develop and implement strategies to solicit alumni support, including sponsorships, volunteering, ambassadorships, mentoring, guest speaking opportunities and career development initiatives. This includes contributing to IH’s marketing activities.
- Coordinate and support regional alumni chapters or affinity groups, providing leadership and guidance to ensure their activities align with IH purpose and goals.
- Manage the alumni engagement budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support engagement activities and initiatives.
- Provide general support to the work of IH as required.
This role reports to the CEO. It has no direct reports.
This role is permanent, part-time (4 days per week).
The role is to be based at International House, St Lucia.
