About the ROLE:
- Location: Sydney
The Analytics & Commercial Business Partner works closely with Sales and Client Management teams to turn data into commercial insight that drives outcomes and adds measurable value. The role owns the design and delivery of Power BI dashboards and reporting tools, builds and maintains financial models using AI-enabled techniques, and partners with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities and support commercial decision-making across the business. Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and other reporting tools to provide accurate, timely, and actionable business insights.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Sales and Client Management to understand commercial priorities and translate data into decision-useful insight.
- Build and maintain financial models, using AI tools to improve the speed, accuracy, and depth of analysis.
- Identify commercial opportunities and risks through analysis of sales, client, and financial performance data.
- Analyse pricing, margin, and profitability trends to support commercial decision-making.
- Drive outcomes by translating analytical insight into practical recommendations that add measurable value.
- Prepare and present regular commercial performance reporting to leadership and executive forums.
- Champion the use of AI and automation to improve reporting efficiency and analytical capability across the business.
- Support commercial decision-making through robust data analysis, forecasting, and scenario modelling.
- Continuously improve dashboard design, data quality, and reporting processes across analytics tools.
- Establish and maintain data quality standards and governance practices across reporting and analytics tools.
- Evaluate tenders and contracts, tracking key milestones to support successful commercial outcomes.
- Manage the sales forecast to ensure deliverables and commercial targets are met.
About YOU
- Strong working knowledge of Power BI and other data visualisation and dashboarding tools.
- Familiarity with CRM/ERP systems (e.g. Salesforce, Dynamics, SAP)
that feed commercial reporting and analytics.
- Sound understanding of financial modelling principles and techniques.
- Basic SQL or data querying skills to support analytics and reporting.
- Practical experience using AI tools to support and enhance financial modelling and data analysis.
- Understanding of the commercial and sales performance drivers relevant to a business partnering role.
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar analytics or commercial business partnering role.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; CPA or CIMA qualified.
Desirable Experience & Attributes:
- Experience working in a SaaS or subscription-based business environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence senior Sales and Client Management leaders.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate insights clearly and confidently to senior stakeholders.
- Commercially minded, with a track record of identifying opportunities and driving measurable business outcomes.
- Curious and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset toward analytics tools, processes, and the use of AI.
- Experience working in a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) setting.
