mteSA is currently seeking motivated Carpentry Apprentices across Adelaide, with opportunities available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year apprentices. Whether your experience is in 1st fix, 2nd fix or both, we want to hear from you!
As a Group Training Organisation (GTO), mteSA employs apprentices and trainees and places them with host employers across South Australia. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience while completing your formal training and working towards your qualification.
What will you be doing?
Depending on your level of experience and host employer, you may be involved in:
- 1st fix carpentry, including framing, flooring and structural work
- 2nd fix carpentry, including doors, skirting, architraves and finishing work
- Reading and interpreting plans and measurements
- Using a range of hand and power tools
- Assisting with residential and/or commercial construction projects
- Maintaining a safe and organised worksite
- Working alongside experienced tradespeople while developing your skills
- Completing your apprenticeship training and progressing towards your qualification

- Currently undertaking a Carpentry Apprenticeship and looking for their next opportunity, or looking to commence an apprenticeship
- 1st, 2nd or 3rd year apprentices
- Experienced or interested in 1st fix and/or 2nd fix carpentry
- Reliable, punctual and willing to learn
- Physically fit and comfortable working on construction sites
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Committed to workplace health and safety
- Keen to build a long-term career in the carpentry and construction industry
Previous experience in carpentry or construction is highly regarded, but a strong attitude and willingness to learn are just as significant.
