The Opportunity
Lindsay Rural is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Category Manager to lead sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, and drive category performance across our fertiliser, chemical, nutrient, and agricultural input portfolios. Based at our Head Office in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane, this strategic role is responsible for securing a competitive, reliable, and sustainable supply network while delivering commercial outcomes through supplier negotiations, rebate programs, procurement efficiencies, and category growth initiatives. Working closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and industry partners, you will ensure supply continuity, optimise profitability, and support the ongoing growth of Lindsay Rural.

What You’ll Do
- Working across a dynamic and rapid-paced agricultural sector, you will leverage your commercial expertise to optimise supplier performance, identify market opportunities, and contribute to the ongoing success of the business:
- Develop and implement sourcing and category strategies across fertilisers, chemicals, nutrients, and agricultural inputs.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, pricing structures, rebates, and supply arrangements.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing,
and supply risks to identify opportunities and ensure supply continuity.
- Drive category performance through margin improvement, cost optimisation, and procurement efficiency initiatives.
- Partner with sales, operations, procurement, and finance teams to align category strategies with business objectives.
- Identify and develop new wholesale opportunities while strengthening existing commercial partnerships.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing or Procurement, ideally within agribusiness, fertilisers, chemicals, FMCG, wholesale distribution, or a related sector.
- Demonstrated success negotiating commercial agreements and managing strategic supplier relationships.
- Strong commercial, analytical and financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting and performance analysis.
- Understanding of commodity markets, procurement strategies and supply chain risk management.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build effective relationships across multiple business functions.
- Highly developed communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant qualifications in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline would be highly regarded but are not essential.
- Candidates must have valid and current Australian working rights to be considered for this position.
