About us
Located at Castlemaine, Loddon Prison is a 477-bed Medium Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. Adjacent to Loddon Prison is Middleton,
a 236-bed Restricted Minimum Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners.
The focus of both prisons is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour. Both prisons provide contemporary and quality correctional services that prepare prisoners for transition and reintegration.
What you will do
As an assessment and transition coordinator, you will support prisoners through assessment, parole and transition.
You will work at Loddon Prison and Middleton in Castlemaine, helping prisoners prepare for release.
You will
- complete prisoner risk and needs assessments using approved assessment tools.
- support parole applications and share information with the Adult Parole Board and Community Correctional Services.
- coordinate transition and reintegration programs, including the CV Reintegration Program.
- work with prisoners, prison staff and service providers to coordinate support and referrals.
- keep accurate program data and records to support planning, review and parole work.
About you
You should understand the needs and challenges prisoners face during transition and reintegration. You should also have the ability to use risk assessment tools with individual prisoners.
You should also have
- resilience and confidence when giving clear, honest advice and receiving feedback.
- teamwork skills to share information and support others in challenging situations.
- problem-solving skills to understand issues, assess information and make sound decisions.
- strong communication and interpersonal skills to understand different views and explain information clearly.
