About the role

Irvine Smash Repairs is looking for a dedicated and experienced Automotive Welder to join our team in Malaga, WA. This role specialises in cutting, patching, and attaching vehicle body panels and structural parts.

Key responsibilities

- Precision Cutting: Expertly cut and remove damaged vehicle body panels or frame sections.

- Fabrication & Patching: Fabricate, shape, and fit custom patch panels to restore vehicle integrity.

- Structural Reattachment: Seamlessly weld replacement parts back onto the vehicle body and chassis.

About you

- Minimum Skilled work experience required: 1-2 years.

- Welding Expertise: High proficiency in MIG/MAG (CO2) welding and spot welding.

- Cutting Tools: Extensive experience operating plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches, and angle grinders.

- Thin Metal Handling: Proven ability to weld thin sheet metals without causing thermal distortion or burn-through.

- Technical Skills: Ability to read technical blueprints and use precision measuring tools for perfect part alignment.

- Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to workshop safety protocols and consistent use of full personal protective equipment (PPE).
