What to Expect
Tesla Energy is scaling rapidly in the APAC utility energy storage market, powered by the continued advancement of our category-defining Megapack platform and strong regional momentum toward renewable storage targets.
As a Business Development Manager, Megapack, you’ll help shape how utilities and energy developers deploy large-scale storage across the region. You’ll build pipeline, refine commercial approaches on live deals, and contribute to how Tesla scales clean energy solutions across APAC.
You’ll be a key member of the Megapack sales team, with autonomy to lead utility-scale opportunities from qualification through commercial negotiation and contract close, collaborating closely with engineering, legal, finance, and delivery.
We are looking for a motivated professional who is excited to progress and close transformative energy storage projects.
What You'll Do
- Lead the full sales cycle for utility-scale Megapack projects across APAC, from proactive pipeline development and opportunity qualification through to commercial negotiation, internal approvals, and successful contract execution and closure.
- Build and manage a healthy, qualified sales pipeline by identifying and engaging utilities, project developers, EPC contractors, and other strategic stakeholders across the region.
- Own end-to-end commercial negotiations: structure and close complex Sales Agreements and Long-Term Service Agreements in close collaboration with legal, finance, engineering, and project delivery teams.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality deal presentations and recommendations to secure executive approvals and maintain momentum toward closure.
- Proactively manage internal and external stakeholder relationships to resolve issues, mitigate risks,
and drive timely contract close-out.
- Maintain accurate and timely opportunity and project data in internal systems (Salesforce and other tools) to support reliable forecasting and pipeline visibility.
- Identify and implement improvements to commercial processes, deal frameworks, and ways of working.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering, Law, or a related field. A technical or energy-sector background is strongly preferred.
- Experience running a full sales cycle and closing high-value, complex B2B contracts (experience in energy, infrastructure, or large-scale technology solutions is highly regarded).
- Self-motivated, resilient, and solutions-oriented; a curious practical problem solver who remains calm under complexity; comfortable operating with ambiguity, accountable for results.
- Experienced commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to negotiate and structure Sales and Service Agreements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organised, with the capacity to juggle multiple workstreams and adapt to changing priorities in a rapid-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel across Australia as needed to progress and close long-cycle utility-scale deals.
- Personal values and motivations aligned with Tesla.
