About Northside Enterprise & Bushlink For more than 30 years, Northside Enterprise has supported people with disability on Sydney's Northern Beaches to build skills, confidence, friendships and real connection with their community. Through Bushlink, our social enterprise, we create meaningful employment for people with disability while delivering genuine environmental and community outcomes - in partnership with schools, businesses, councils and local organisations.

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to help us grow further: more partnerships, more revenue, more opportunity, more impact.

The Role The role is offered on a part-time basis across three days per week, with flexibility to agree the working pattern. Regular travel across Sydney’s Northern Beaches, North Shore and surrounding areas will be required to build and maintain partnerships.

This is a hands-on, pipeline-owning role, not a strategy-only seat. You'll be out building relationships and turning them into outcomes across:

- Corporate partnerships & volunteering - growing Bushlink's corporate relationships, volunteering days and sponsorship opportunities with businesses looking for genuine ESG and community engagement impact.
- Schools Inclusion Program - expanding relationships with schools across the Northern Beaches, North Shore and beyond, building a strong forward pipeline of new opportunities.
- New non-NDIS revenue & social enterprise - identifying recent markets for Bushlink's capabilities (think aged care gardening, strata and grounds maintenance) and developing new Northside social enterprise ideas from concept to reality.

- Strategic partnerships - building long-term relationships with businesses, government, philanthropic organisations and complementary community services.
- Targeted grants & funding - pursuing the funding opportunities that genuinely align with our priorities.
- Participant growth - opening referral pathways that help more people discover Northside's programs.
- Pipeline ownership - keeping a clear, actively managed view of every opportunity, from first contact through to conversion.

What Success Looks Like

More sustainable revenue. Stronger corporate and school partnerships. New Bushlink services moving from idea to viable business. More meaningful employment created for people with disability. A pipeline you can point to and say, with confidence, exactly where every opportunity stands.

About You

You're a natural relationship builder with commercial instincts and a genuine drive to turn ideas into results. Your background might be in business development, partnerships, sales, fundraising, corporate engagement, social enterprise or the not-for-profit sector - the sector matters less than your ability to spot an opportunity, build trust and see things through.

You'll bring

- Demonstrated business development, partnership or commercial experience

- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and confidence creating current revenue streams
- The ability to turn ideas into practical, compelling propositions
- Strong writing skills for proposals and funding applications
- Disciplined follow-up and pipeline management
- Confidence engaging with corporate, education, government and community stakeholders
- Initiative, autonomy and strong organisational skills
- A willingness to roll up your sleeves
- Genuine alignment with our purpose

Experience in disability, social enterprise, education, community services or the NDIS is valuable but not essential. Local knowledge of the Northern Beaches and North Shore will be highly regarded.

Why This Role A new corporate partnership can create meaningful employment. A new school relationship can introduce a whole generation of students to inclusion. Expanding Bushlink's gardening services into aged care or strata can build recurring revenue while creating more work for people with disability. A new social enterprise can create jobs and strengthen our future.

This flexible, part-time role offers the opportunity to shape the business development function, work closely with the CEO and see the tangible impact of the partnerships you build. If you want a role where your commercial skills build something that genuinely matters, we'd love to hear from you.
