Role overview

We are looking for a natural connector, someone who is energised by opening a conversation and turning a cold call into a warm relationship.

As our Business Development Specialist, you will proactively identify, develop and qualify new business opportunities across our range of commercial services. Working across interpreting, training, audiology, video communications and more, you will engage new prospects,



uncover needs and connect organisations with solutions that improve accessibility, communication and inclusion.

You will play a key role in growing Expression Australia's commercial services by creating and qualifying opportunities, then partnering with the internal team best placed to progress and close the sale. While you won't carry the full responsibility for every deal, you will stay connected to opportunities and contribute to their successful conversion.

This position is part time, four days per week, based at our Collingwood head office, reporting to the Head of Customer Care and Operations.

About you

You are an energetic self-starter who thrives on building relationships and creating opportunities.

You are resilient, comfortable with proactive outreach and consistent follow up, and motivated by both results and purpose. You enjoy opening doors, connecting with people and developing opportunities and you bring the organisation and persistence needed to manage your own activity and pipeline.

You may already be working in business development, sales development, lead generation, account management or customer acquisition. Most importantly, you're looking for a role where you can use your business development experience to create opportunities, contribute ideas and make a meaningful difference.

Essential requirements

- Demonstrated experience in a business development, sales development, lead generation or similar growth-focused role.
- Confident and resilient communicator,



comfortable with proactive outreach and relationship building.
- Experience identifying, developing and qualifying new business opportunities.
- Proficiency using Salesforce or a comparable CRM to manage pipeline activity and outcomes.
- Current valid driver licence (EA pool cars available for travel to meetings and events).
- Prior experience or exposure to the Deaf community, Auslan, or the disability and NDIS sector is desirable. Training pathways available if not already held.
