Our cellar door and tapas bar, Home of the Brave, is the public face and beating heart of First Drop Wines—a vibrant place where great wine, food and conversation come together.

We are seeking an experienced Cellar Door Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of Home of the Brave and deliver an outstanding experience for every guest.

The role

This is a pivotal, hands-on position for a wine and hospitality professional who understands tourism, wine tastings, food service and direct-to-consumer sales.

Working closely with the owners and management team, you will lead our cellar door team, maintain exceptional service standards and turn visitors into loyal First Drop customers and advocates.

Your responsibilities will include

- Leading, inspiring and developing the cellar door team
- Managing daily operations, staff rosters and service standards
- Hosting engaging wine tastings and memorable visitor experiences
- Overseeing our tapas and food service
- Driving wine, wine-club and direct-to-consumer sales
- Building lasting relationships with customers, members and tourism partners
- Coordinating bookings, events, masterclasses and group experiences
- Managing stock, presentation, point-of-sale systems and daily reporting
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and regulatory compliance
- Representing the First Drop brand with energy,

About you You are a natural host and capable leader who enjoys being on the floor, supporting the team and engaging directly with customers.

You will bring

- Experience in cellar door, wine tourism, restaurants or premium hospitality
- Strong leadership and day-to-day operational skills
- Sound wine knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing it
- An understanding of food service and the relationship between wine and food
- A proven ability to drive sales without compromising hospitality
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Confidence using booking, POS and customer-management systems
- A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
- Availability to work weekends, public holidays and selected events

Experience with wine clubs, database marketing, tourism partnerships or event management will be highly regarded. Why join First Drop Wines?
