About Al Dente Ristorante

Al Dente Ristorante is an Italian restaurant in Glenmore Park offering a diverse menu of Italian-inspired dishes, including fresh pasta, pizza, mains and entrees. We are committed to quality ingredients, consistent preparation, professional service and an enjoyable dining experience for our guests.

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will contribute to menu planning, food preparation, quality control and the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

About the Role

As a Chef at Al Dente Ristorante, you will plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food in accordance with the restaurant’s menu, recipes and quality standards. You will work closely with management and other kitchen staff to maintain consistency, presentation, food safety and efficient service across all stages of food preparation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s menu, recipes and service requirements.
- Contribute to menu planning, including estimating food requirements, portion sizes and ingredient needs.
- Prepare and cook a range of Italian dishes, including pasta, pizza, entrees and mains, using appropriate cooking methods and techniques.
- Monitor the quality, taste, portioning and presentation of dishes at all stages of preparation and service.
- Examine ingredients and food products to ensure quality, freshness and suitability before use.
- Coordinate food preparation activities to ensure orders are completed accurately and within required service times.
- Discuss food preparation, menu and service issues with management,



kitchen staff and front-of-house staff as required.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance to cooks and other kitchen staff on food preparation and cooking procedures.
- Ensure kitchen staff follow recipes, portion controls, presentation standards and safe food-handling procedures.
- Explain and enforce hygiene, food safety, sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements within the kitchen.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with food-cost control, rotate stock and coordinate the ordering of food and kitchen supplies.
- Maintain appropriate storage, labelling and temperature control of food products and ingredients.
- Assist with the training and supervision of junior kitchen staff where required.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment, including equipment, utensils, preparation areas and storage areas.
- Contribute ideas for new dishes and improvements to existing menu items while maintaining the restaurant’s Italian dining focus.

Position Requirements

- Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent recognised commercial cookery qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial restaurant or similar dining establishment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Italian cuisine and commercial kitchen operations will be highly regarded.
- Strong food preparation, cooking, plating and presentation skills.
- Good understanding of menu planning, stock control, food costing and kitchen workflow.




- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy restaurant environment and maintain consistent quality during service.
- Good communication, teamwork, time-management and organisational skills.
- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
