Chef/Apprentice Chef

Responsibilities and duties
Maintain Kitchen
- Keep the kitchen, appliances, and tools spotless.
- Sanitize workspaces and gear per food service standards.
- Keep stations stocked and ready for service.
- Manage food records, inventory tracking, and deliveries.
Prepare Ingredients
- Prep all ingredients efficiently before meal service, including washing, chopping, and portioning.
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing dishes accurately, following established recipes and Noodledoof quality standards.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and quality during preparation,keep track of labeling and food storage standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized preparation station throughout the shift to ensure a smooth workflow.
Store and Dispose of Food
- Unload deliveries quickly, check quality, and store stock right away using FIFO to keep everything fresh.
- Label and date all containers, keep stock records tight, and monitor temps to ensure top food safety.
- Minimize waste after service by smart portioning, re-using prep safely where possible,
and disposing of waste responsibly.

- Adaptable & Ready: No two days are the same at Noodledoof—you’re adaptable, proactive, and always ready to jump into whatever needs doing.
Education and Training
- While no formal education is required, training at a TAFE college or culinary school is preferred.
- Previous work experience as a cook/chef assistant is desired.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
- Certificate (FSH) Food Safety Handler preferred
- Must have the right to work in Australia
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or desire to complete formal training preferred
