About Triathlon WA

Triathlon WA is the peak sporting organisation for triathlon and multisport in Western Australia.

As a member-based not-for-profit organisation, we support clubs, athletes, coaches, officials and event organisers while delivering major participation events and programs that encourage more Western Australians to lead active and healthy lives.

With a dedicated team, annual operating budget of approximately $2 million, and an ambitious strategic plan, Triathlon WA is focused on strengthening governance, growing participation, expanding commercial partnerships and delivering exceptional experiences across the sport.

The Prospect

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the strategic leadership, organisational performance and long-term sustainability of Triathlon WA.

You will lead a passionate team, working collaboratively to deliver strategic priorities while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.

The role offers a unique combination of strategic leadership and practical execution. You will guide the organisation's future direction while remaining connected to operational delivery when required.

You will also play a key role in strengthening commercial performance, securing government investment,



building strategic partnerships and ensuring the organisation continues to deliver meaningful outcomes for members, participants, clubs and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities

As Chief Executive Officer you will:

- Lead the implementation of Triathlon WA's Strategic Plan and organisational priorities.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team and positive organisational culture.
- Drive commercial growth through business development, partnerships and sponsorship opportunities.
- Secure and maintain government funding and strategic investment.
- Ensure robust financial management, governance, compliance and risk management.
- Build productive relationships with government, industry, sporting organisations, sponsors and key stakeholders.
- Prepare Board papers, attend Board and Committee meetings and oversee Company Secretary responsibilities.
- Support operational delivery during major organisational initiatives and events.

About You/Selection Criteria You are an authentic and values-driven leader with a proven ability to inspire teams, build relationships and deliver sustainable organisational outcomes.

You bring

- Excellent governance knowledge and experience working with Boards (Essential).
- Demonstrated executive or senior leadership experience.
- Strong commercial acumen and business development capability.
- Experience securing government funding, grants or strategic partnerships.
- Strong financial and strategic management skills.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
- Experience leading organisational change and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience in engaging with and working collaboratively with volunteers.




- A collaborative leadership style with a willingness to support operational delivery when required.
