Full-Time | Damage Control Project Management

Salary: $79K – $99K + super

We’re currently seeking a Civil Engineering Technician (ANZSCO: 312212) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented skilled who thrives in the field, enjoys technical problem‑solving, and is motivated by contributing to community recovery efforts.

About Us

Damage Control Project Management specialises in restoring essential public infrastructure impacted by natural disasters. We deliver end‑to‑end assessment, documentation, and project coordination for recovery programs across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct field inspections of civil infrastructure (roads, drainage, bridges, etc.) with a focus on flood and disaster impacts.

- Inspect and assess civil infrastructure, including roads, drainage structures, bridges and other public assets, to identify defects, quantify damage, determine asset condition and assist in defining appropriate repair and reconstruction requirements.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, evidence records, and reports to support funding submissions and audits.
- Capture field data using vehicle‑mounted 360° cameras and action cameras (e.g., GoPro).
- Use GIS tools to map damage, validate inspection data, and support analysis and reporting.
- Process GPS‑tagged imagery and related data to support engineering assessments.
- Apply Python-based workflows for data processing and assist with image-based damage detection tools.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports incorporating maps, imagery, and quantified data.

Essential Requirements

- Diploma,



associate degree, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 1.5 years of relevant experience in:
- Road or civil infrastructure inspections; or
- Damage assessment and condition evaluation.

Candidates with 3+ years of relevant experience will be highly regarded. Demonstrated knowledge and application of DRFA processes and submission requirements.

Proficiency with

- GIS platforms (mandatory).
- Spatial and GPS-based data management.
- Vehicle-mounted and/or GoPro camera systems for field data capture (mandatory).

Additional Requirements

- Experience working in remote or regional environments.
- Willingness and ability to:
- Travel interstate and
- Work away from home for extended periods (days to weeks).
- Working understanding of Python for data processing (desirable).
- Exposure to image analysis or machine learning-based workflows (desirable).

o About the Role This position provides civil engineering support in the context of disaster recovery, combining:

o Field inspections and data collection.

o GIS-based analysis and reporting.

o Technical documentation to support infrastructure repair and funding requirements.

o You’ll work across multiple states on disaster-affected assets, helping to restore critical community infrastructure.

This is a specialised Civil Engineering Technician role. Only applicants with relevant experience in civil inspections and DRFA-related work will be considered.

Salary will be determined depending on relevant experience and qualifications.

Multiple positions available.

Pay: $79,000.00 – $99,000.00 per year
