LRH Consulting is an engineering consultancy providing civil, structural and multidisciplinary engineering services to clients across the mining, and industrial sectors. Our Australian engineering team supports projects from concept development and site investigation through to detailed design, documentation and implementation support.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Melbourne-based engineering team and support our existing Australian operations, while also contributing to the expansion of our engineering services into the North American market.
About the role In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
· Undertake civil engineering design and analysis for mining, industrial and infrastructure projects.
· Perform structural assessments and engineering calculations for steel and concrete structures in accordance with applicable Australian Standards and project-specific requirements.
· Develop engineering concepts, design calculations, technical reports, specifications and construction documentation.
· Review and interpret engineering drawings, plans and technical documentation, and coordinate design requirements with drafting and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
· Conduct site inspections, engineering investigations, condition assessments and site data collection to support the planning, design and implementation of civil engineering projects.
· Provide technical support during fabrication, construction and project implementation.
· Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers and other engineering disciplines to deliver practical and constructible engineering solutions.
· Monitor project requirements and assist with the preparation, review and coordination of engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements.
· Support the Australian engineering team in the delivery of existing projects and development of new engineering opportunities.
· Assist with the company’s expansion into the North American market, including technical coordination, understanding client requirements and supporting the delivery of engineering services for prospective projects.
· Contribute to internal engineering standards, quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
Selection Criteria
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline. Post-graduate studies in Civil Engineering will be highly regarded.
· Relevant qualified experience in civil engineering.
· Experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design and analysis projects.
· Mine site experiences
· Engineers Australia Qualified Engineer (MIEAust, NER)
· NCEES certified Engineer (FE)
· Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, American Standards and engineering design practices.
· Strong technical report writing and engineering documentation skills.
· Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
· Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
· Experience in mining, resources, industrial or heavy engineering projects will be highly regarded.
· Exposure to international engineering projects or North American engineering practices will be advantageous.
· Experience with the following engineering design / project management software;
· Structural Analysis & Design: SAP2000, LS-DYNA, HyperMesh, Space Gass.
· Computational & Numerical Methods: MATLAB, Optum G2.
· Project & Construction Management: OpenRail, MicroStation, Bluebeam Revu, ALIM.
· CAD drawing software: AutoCAD, Microstation
· GIS & Infrastructure Planning: ArcGIS, Civil 3D.
· Operation of 3D Scanner and Total Station
Remuneration
Base salary of $85,000 – $100,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with skills, qualifications, and experience.
Pay: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
