What we are looking for
We are not simply looking for someone to load and unload a CNC machine. We are looking for a machinist who can think through the manufacturing & design process, set the machine up, produce the component and verify that it meets the required specification.
About You & Essential for this Role
- MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, preferably Machining/Fitting-Machining, or equivalent recognised trade qualification.
- 2 years' CNC machining experience.
- CNC machine setup experience.
- CNC milling and/or turning experience.
- SolidWorks competency.
- Fusion 360 competency.
- Manual lathe competency.
- Vertical mill competency.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Ability to work to tight dimensional tolerances.
- Competent with precision measuring equipment.
- Understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining processes.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
Highly desirable
- Experience with both CNC milling and CNC turning.
- CNC programming/G-code experience.
- Fusion 360 CAM experience.
- Experience machining aluminium and stainless steel.
- Motorsport/automotive/performance industry experience.
- Experience with low-volume/high-mix production.
- Experience manufacturing components from 3D CAD models.
- Experience with GD&T.;
- Experience with CMM or other advanced inspection equipment.
- Experience with probing/tool setters.
- Experience designing/producing jigs and fixtures.
