About the role

City of Canada Bay is looking for an enthusiastic and people-focused educator to join our Resource Recovery & Waste team. You will work directly with businesses across the LGA to support the rollout of our commercial FOGO service, helping them separate waste correctly, reduce contamination, and build lasting good habits.

In this role you will:

- Engage and educate local businesses on FOGO requirements
- Conduct site visits, workshops and outreach activities
- Monitor and investigate contamination issues
- Build relationships with businesses, contractors and internal teams
- Collect and report on participation and engagement data

Are You the Ideal Candidate? To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in sustainability, waste management, community engagement, communications, education or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with communities, businesses and stakeholders, ideally in waste, sustainability or environmental programs.
- Sound understanding of waste management, recycling, resource recovery and circular economy principles.
- Solid communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills, including the ability to manage challenging issues.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective education, engagement and behaviour-change initiatives, using data and insights to inform outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant systems,



with a current Australian Class C driver's licence and flexibility to undertake field-based and occasional out-of-hours activities.

We are looking for a confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills, a proactive approach and an interest in sustainability, waste or resource recovery.

We are offering a total remuneration from $102,118 – $117,436 annual salary (pro rata for 21 hours per week), plus superannuation.
