Community Development Support Officer - Full-Time | Permanent
Level 2 - $90,851.83* per annum (incl $20,000 Port Hedland Allowance)
*A 4.5% base salary increase will apply following the approval and formal registration of the Town's Industrial Agreement.

The Role An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and community-minded individual to join our Community Services Directorate as a Community Development Support Officer.
This role is ideal for someone looking to start or build a career in community development, local government, or customer-focused services. You will gain valuable hands-on experience providing administrative, operational and customer service support across the Town's Youth, Children's, Facilities and Community Engagement teams.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll have the opportunity to develop practical skills in community engagement, event coordination, program delivery and stakeholder support. You'll contribute to the delivery and promotion of programs, initiatives and events that create positive outcomes for the Port Hedland community, while benefiting from ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and administrative support across Youth, Children's, Facilities, and Community Engagement teams.
- Assist with planning, delivery and evaluation of programs, initiatives and events at the JD Hardie Youth & Community Hub and within the community.
- Support marketing and promotion activities, including preparing communications in line with organisational protocols.
- Ensure high-quality customer service to community members, groups and organisations.

Work Related Requirements The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Current C-class driver's licence
- Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Previous experience in a similar administrative or community support role.
- Solid customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
