East Perth District Basketball Association (EPDBA)

Full-Time | Perth, WA

Location: Morley Sport & Recreation Centre

Salary: $85,000 + superannuation

Lead the delivery of competitions, programs and basketball operations at East Perth Eagles

East Perth District Basketball Association (EPDBA) is seeking an organised, energetic and basketball-focused Competitions & Programs Manager to join our team and play a key role in the delivery and growth of basketball across the Association.

This is a diverse operational leadership role responsible for the successful delivery of EPDBA’s Junior Domestic, Senior Domestic and 3x3 competitions, athlete development and participation programs, Association events and NBL1 team operations.

Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with coaches, players, referees, volunteers, venue partners and external stakeholders, the Competitions & Programs Manager will ensure EPDBA’s competitions and programs are delivered to a high standard while identifying opportunities to improve participation, engagement and the overall participant and spectator experience.

Key Responsibilities

Domestic Competitions – Junior & Senior

- Lead the day-to-day administration, delivery and continuous improvement of EPDBA’s Junior and Senior Domestic competitions.
- Manage registrations, grading, fixtures, competition structures, rules, team administration and competition communications.
- Lead and coordinate Court Controllers and Match Officials, ensuring consistent standards of competition delivery, rules compliance and competition integrity.
- Oversee game-day requirements and venue operations, ensuring competitions run efficiently and professionally across EPDBA venues.
- Support clubs, coaches, team managers, players and families throughout the season.
- Coordinate finals, grand finals and other key competition events.
- Manage communication with teams, officials, venue staff and other key stakeholders.
- Monitor participation, retention and participant feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Review and develop competition structures, processes and new competition offerings to support participation and growth.

3x3 Basketball

- Coordinate EPDBA’s 3x3 competitions, events and participation opportunities.
- Manage registrations, scheduling, officials, logistics and competition delivery.




- Develop initiatives that engage existing participants and attract new players.
- Identify and develop opportunities to grow 3x3 participation across the Association.

Athlete Development & Participation Programs

- Coordinate the delivery of EPDBA athlete development and participation programs.
- Support the planning and delivery of Eagles Academy, Aussie Hoops, term programs, holiday camps, WABL preparation and other player development initiatives.
- Work with Basketball Development Officer and program coaches to ensure programs are delivered consistently, effectively and to a high standard.
- Manage program promotion, registrations, scheduling and participant communications.
- Monitor participation, program performance and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Support initiatives that strengthen the EPDBA player development pathway and increase participation.

NBL1 Team Operations & Event Delivery

- Provide operational support for EPDBA’s NBL1 Eagles Men’s and Women’s teams throughout the season.
- Support coaches and players with operational requirements and day-to-day team logistics.
- Coordinate player administration including registrations, accreditation, uniforms, equipment, travel and related requirements.
- Lead the operational delivery of NBL1 home games, ensuring events are delivered professionally and in accordance with league and EPDBA requirements.
- Coordinate game-day operations including venue setup, court presentation, staffing, volunteers, officials, music, entertainment and activations.
- Work with sponsors and partners to deliver NBL1 game-day activations and promotional opportunities.
- Assist with NBL1 season launches, presentations and other key club activities.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve the quality, professionalism and overall NBL1 game-day experience.

Association Events & Activities

- Assist with the planning and delivery of major EPDBA events, presentations, launches, finals and community activities.
- Develop event plans, timelines, operational requirements and staffing schedules.




- Coordinate internal teams, volunteers, suppliers, venues and external stakeholders.
- Ensure events and activities are delivered safely, professionally and in line with EPDBA requirements.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that enhance the profile, engagement and commercial opportunities of EPDBA events.

Essential Criteria

- Demonstrated experience in competition management, event management, sporting administration or a similar operational role.
- Strong organisational, planning and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of operational delivery.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.

Desirable / Preferred Criteria

- Tertiary qualification in Sports Management, Event Management, Business, Recreation or a related field.
- Experience within basketball or another sporting organisation.
- Experience managing officials, volunteers, contractors or operational teams.
- Experience delivering sporting competitions, events or programs across multiple venues.
- Basketball background through playing, coaching, administration or employment — advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of basketball competitions, rules and competition structures.
