About the Position

JB Construction is seeking experienced Concreters to undertake concrete works across residential, commercial and associated construction projects throughout metropolitan Perth.

The role will contribute to the company's existing concrete activities, including house slabs, crossovers, hardstands, ramps and footpaths, all of which are expressly identified among JB Construction's services.

Key Responsibilities – Concreter

· Preparing construction sites and areas for concrete placement.

· Setting out and preparing concrete work areas to required dimensions and levels.

· Erecting and dismantling concrete formwork as required.

· Preparing sub-base and reinforcing materials for concrete works.

· Laying and positioning steel reinforcement where required.

· Pouring, spreading and levelling concrete using appropriate tools, screeding equipment and templates to achieve the required finish and specifications.

· Tamping, compacting, smoothing, shaping and finishing concrete surfaces to achieve the required level, texture and quality.

· Operating trowelling and other concrete-finishing equipment.

· Forming edges, joints, falls and finishes according to project specifications.

· Constructing and finishing house slabs, crossovers, hardstands, ramps, footpaths and other concrete structures.

· Installing fixtures, reinforcement and other components in concrete where required.

· Cutting and forming expansion and control joints.

· Applying appropriate concrete curing procedures.

· Undertaking remedial concrete and finishing work where required.





· Checking and securing completed work for levels, dimensions, finish and quality.

· Safely operating hand tools, power tools and construction equipment.

· Maintaining tools and equipment in safe working condition.

· Coordinating with supervisors, plant operators and other construction workers.

· Maintaining safe and clean work areas.

· Complying with WHS requirements and JB Construction's workplace safety procedures.

Skills & Experience The successful applicant should have:

· Demonstrated experience in concreting or closely related construction work.

· Experience with concrete preparation, pouring, levelling and finishing.

· Experience in slabs, driveways, crossovers, hardstands, pathways or similar works.

· Knowledge of formwork and reinforcement practices.

· Ability to use screeds, trowels, floats, edging tools, compactors and relevant equipment.

· Ability to read measurements, plans and construction specifications.

· Understanding of concrete curing and finishing procedures.

· Strong attention to levels, falls, dimensions and quality of finish.

· Valuable understanding of construction-site safety.

· Physical capability to undertake manual construction duties.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Current Australian driver's licence preferred.

· Construction White Card, or ability to obtain one prior to commencement.

· Relevant trade qualifications will be highly regarded but not compulsory.

Pay: $79,500.00 – $80,000.00 per year
